The 2009 Stimulus Package provides substantial tax credits to homeowners who make energy efficient updates to their home.

    Home-owners installing qualified roofs (see our qualifying shades to the left) in 2009 and 2010 may be eligible for a tax credit worth up to 30% of the materials cost

(materials only) up to $1,500 per home (per Metal Roofing association's website.)

In order to meet Energy Star's 'Cool Roof' criteria, the following needs to be met:

• Steep Slope Roofs (3/12 or greater)- the initial SSR value must be 0.250 or greater & the 3-year reflectivity must be 0.15 or greater
